Pre-master's Program

Your pathway to graduate study

The Pre-master's Program is designed to prepare ambitious international students for graduate study at Lynn University. Depending on your chosen progression degree, you can complete the Pre-master's Program with up to 10 academic credits.

Depending on your chosen progression degree, you can progress to the second semester of your master's degree with up to 10 academic credits. This will save you time and money as you gain additional skills while completing credits for your degree early.

Once you successfully complete your Pre-master's Program you will progress to your graduate program at Lynn, with a choice of unique degree studies.

Curriculum

Your Pre-master's Program will be a combination of English for Academic Purposes courses and academic courses specific to your chosen degree. These courses have been specially designed to provide international students with the academic and English language skills required to help you succeed in your graduate degree.

Your study plan will be outlined in your offer letter, though subject to change after your arrival at the International Study Center.

English for Academic Purposes classes include:

  • Reading & Writing II & III
  • Listening & Speaking II & III
  • US Culture
  • Critical Thinking

If you are progressing to an Master of Business Administration (MBA) after your Pre-master's Program your degree-specific classes will include:

  • Graduate Orientation Seminar
  • Leadership and Management of Business Organizations
  • Framework for Marketing Management
  • Managerial Accounting

If you are progressing to a MS Communication Media after your Pre-master's Program your degree-specific classes will include:

  • Graduate Orientation Seminar
  • Communication and Media Technologies
  • History of Communication and Media
  • Aesthetics of Digital Photography*

*Or other course in specialization.
